I have more than twenty-five years of experience in the field of industrial property rights and copyright. After working as an attorney in Berlin and spending a year studying at Georgetown University in Washington, D. C., I joined rospatt osten pross as an attorney in 1988. My work focuses on patent law, design protection and trade mark law.
I concentrate on court cases. In patent law, this involves both infringement litigation and also nullity and opposition proceedings in a variety of technical fields. I have led and assisted in trials through several instances for companies operating globally and also for “hidden champions” in medical engineering (cardiac catheters, vascular prostheses and artificial joints, surgical instruments), chemistry (steel alloys, polymers), electrical engineering (lighting technology, alarm engineering, automation engineering, heating technology, bus systems), mechanical engineering (bevel gears, driveline engineering, chain diggers, filter technology, bakery machines, laser measuring technology, inkjet printers), computer technology (chip design) and for consumer goods enterprises.
I have also been involved in trials in the field of design protection (slavish imitation) and similarly in trade mark law. For companies operating internationally I have conducted customs seizure procedures in the fields of the protection of plant variety rights and patent law.
For years, I have held a seminar on patent infringement cases together with a presiding judge of a patent litigation panel.
