Leonard has been working as a lawyer at rospatt since completing his legal traineeship in 2023. He advises national and international clients on matters of patent, design, trademark and unfair competition law.

The patent litigation cases he has handled so far involve inventions in the fields of electrical engineering and telecommunications, among others. In trademark and design law, Leonard has primarily protected the products of clients from the luxury segment and mid-sized companies against counterfeiting. He is also active at trade fairs to prevent the sale of copies and fakes. In addition, Leonard drafts and negotiates contracts, many of which are license agreements.

Before starting his career as a lawyer, Leonard worked in antitrust law at two other international law firms during his PhD and legal traineeship. This experience in antitrust law is particularly useful to him when it comes to standard essential patents.

Leonard was called to the bar as lawyer (Germany) in 2023.

2019 – now: doctorate degree at the University of Cologne, Institute for Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Martin Paul Waßmer

2021 – 2023: legal traineeship at the Aachen Regional Court
